Stop Dog Chewing Problems Forever

It doesn’t matter if you are a dog owner or you are thinking of becoming one – sooner or later you will be faced with the problem of dog chewing. Sooner or later every puppy/dog goes through it.

When our dog decides to chew you must keep in mind that this is a perfectly natural behavior. I know it can be extremely annoying and in some instances your dogs chewing can be rather expensive.

A dog doesn’t care what they chew on. At times I find it rather amusing when I receive emails from fellow dog owners stating that their dog chewed up the most expensive pair of shoes that they had in the closet. The dog owner views the situation as if the dog actually knew that the shoes cost hundreds of dollars. I find it amazing at how often I receive such emails.

The truth is dogs will chew on anything that they can wrap their mouths around. It doesn’t matter if it is an old dirty rag, you new pair of Gucci shoes or the table leg of a piece of furniture that has been in the family since the birth of Christ.

Question: What causes doges to chew?

• Loneliness or boredom
  
  
• Separation anxiety, which often occurs if you work long hours away from home.
  
  
• When they are teething (this is normally a rough period of time for all dog owners).
  
  
• Fear and or phobia.
  
  
• When seeking attention.
  
  
• Through anticipation, some dogs chew just before their owner is due back home.
  

It is extremely important that you stop your dog from chewing, not only because it frustrates us to no end, but because it can be extremely dangerous for your dog. If your dog chews into an electric wires, poisons and any number of other harmful objects that they could be in serious danger.
